The Youth Break the Boundaries (YBB) Foundation has officially opened registration for the Japan Youth Summit 2025. Set to take place in Osaka, Japan, from October 26 to 29, 2025, the summit carries the theme “Pioneering Innovation for Sustainable Futures.” This international event aims to bring together young leaders, innovators, and changemakers from across the world to collaborate, share insights, and explore sustainable solutions for global challenges.

About the Japan Youth Summit 2025

Japan Youth Summit (JYS) is an international forum that serves as a catalyst for youth innovation and cross-cultural engagement. It provides a space for young individuals to discuss pressing global issues while promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2025 edition focuses particularly on SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 13 (Climate Action).

Through a dynamic combination of discussions, competitions, and cultural exchange, JYS aims to strengthen youth leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in real-world contexts.

The summit is designed to achieve the following core objectives:

Program Activities:

Over the four-day summit, participants will engage in a range of impactful sessions, including:

• International Youth Summit and panel discussions with global experts
• International Innovation Competition
• Leadership and entrepreneurship workshops
• Cultural exploration in Osaka and Kyoto
• Culture and Awarding Night

These activities are structured to provide both theoretical insight and practical skills development, while also allowing participants to explore Japanese heritage and engage with peers from diverse backgrounds.

Event Schedule:

• October 26: Airport assistance (Kansai International Airport), hotel check-in
• October 27: City tour to Kyoto for intercultural exploration
• October 28: Youth summit, panel discussions, project competition, awarding and cultural night
• October 29: Certificate collection, hotel check-out, and airport drop-off at 10:00 AM

Participants are advised to arrive and depart according to the official schedule, as assistance will only be provided on the designated days.

• Letter of Acceptance Announcement: June 20 – 30, 2025
• First Payment Deadline: July 31, 2025
• Fully Funded Interview Announcement: August 1 – 10, 2025
• Interview Period: August 11 – 20, 2025
• Second Payment Deadline: August 31, 2025
• Final Announcement of Fully Funded Participants: September 1 – 10, 2025

Registration Categories:

Participants can apply through either the fully funded or self-funded tracks. The fully funded scheme is competitive and based on application quality, essay submissions, and interview performance. Those not selected for the funded category still have the opportunity to join through the self-funded route.

The program fee includes hotel accommodation, meals, seminar access, transportation during the summit, airport assistance, official kits, and certification.

Eligibility and Application Process:

To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be between 15 and 40 years’ old
• Be of any nationality and educational background
• Have no criminal record
• Not be affiliated with extremist organizations
