University of Waterloo Scholarships
Various scholarships are offered by universities for students, including merit-based scholarships as well as need-based scholarships for students.
Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships
If students meet the eligibility and requirements for these scholarships, they will automatically be considered for them once they get admission to the university through the University of Waterloo Canada Scholarships 2025.
1# President’s Scholarship of Distinction
Main Criteria:
- An average of 95%+ admissions in early May
- Students admitted to Waterloo’s full-time first-year degree program can take advantage of this program
Value:
An Entrance Scholarship of $2,000, a Research Award of $1,500 and/or an Award for International Experience of $1,500 will be awarded.
2# President’s Scholarship
Main Criteria:
- Admissions averaged 90% to 94.9% in early May
- Students admitted to Waterloo’s full-time first-year degree program can take advantage of this program
Value:
Scholarship of $2,000 for new students
3# Merit Scholarship
Main Criteria:
- An average of 85% to 89.9% of students were admitted in early May
- Students admitted to Waterloo’s full-time first-year degree program can take advantage of this program
Value:
Scholarship of $1,000 for new students
Undergraduate Scholarships (Application Required)
1# Sponsored by Donors or Other
The application deadline for these scholarships is April 15. They range from $1,000 to $20,000.
2# Schulich Leader Scholarship
A total of 100 scholarships will be awarded each year across 20 Canadian universities. Half of the scholarships will be valued at $100,000 for engineering scholarships, and the other half will be valued at $80,000 for science and mathematics scholarships.
